Visual Studio causing "an unhandled win32 exception" in multiple applications and SQL server problems.
I recently installed Visual Studio Professional 2008 onto my hp pavillion m7388a desktop pc. I was running Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3.Ever since I installed it I have been gettin unhandled win32 exception messages popping up in a message box. The just in time debugger is then launched and is unable to debug the program as it can not obtain the source code. I am then required to close the JIT debugger which in turn closes the application on which the unhandled exception occured. I tried downloading VS SP1 which did not correct the problem. Is there a fix for this issue? Also when I was installing VS 2008, it failed to install SQL Server 2005 express. I then had a message box appearing on startup that read "SQL Dumper library failed initialization, this file is corrupt or has been tampered with."I downloaded SQL Server 2008, uninstalled SQL Server 2005 and installed the new SQL server. This got rid of the message box appearing at startup but as I had a lot of files in Controll Panel\Add/Remove Programs with the string "SQL server" in them I was unsure of which ones to uninstall so I uninstalled all of them. Which files do I need to uninstall for the SQL server problem?I have uninstalled Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3 and installed Windows XP Professional SP2 to start fresh (It was time for an overhaul anyway). I really want to use VS as I love the program, it is truly awesome, but not at the expense of losing acess to all of my other programs. I payed A lot of money for it and I just want it to work. Some programs I had particular issues with regarding VS was: Windows System Recovery(which is why I could not simply restore to an earlier time), Yahoo Messenger and Adobe Dreamweaver (which I couldnt even setup).Sorry for rambling on. Thank you in advance. ;)
